PT Engineering developed a traffic safety analysis for US 74 improvements (A-0009) in Graham County. A 5-year crash analysis for three sections of the Corridor K project were completed. The analyses were summarized with breakdowns of crash types as well as crash rate comparisons of the study sections to the statewide crash rates of similar route types. The critical crash rates for the segments were also calculated to determine if the study crash rates exceeded the critical crash rates. The critical crash rate is a crash rate that is statistically adjusted to account for exposure (traffic volume and segment length).
