PT Engineering (as a subconsultant to Three Oaks Engineering, Inc.) developed a traffic simulation analysis for U-4739; SR 3556 (Amboy Road/Meadow Road) improvements from I-240 to US 25 (Biltmore Avenue) in Buncombe County. The purpose of this analysis was to analyze the traffic operations for multimodal and operational improvements along the corridor. The study includes the analysis of the 2018 and 2040 Scenarios for both the No-Build and Build scenarios. The analysis utilizes microscopic simulation of each of the scenarios in TransModeler including the development of a visually validated base year model. Three build alternatives were analyzed including addition of turn lanes and signalization, roundabouts and a combination of signalization and roundabouts.
