PT Engineering is provided simulation analysis and oversight services for a study utilizing TransModeler along I-77 in Mecklenburg County. There are several interchange improvement projects along the I-77 corridor; therefore, a single calibrated base model was be developed from south of I-485 to north of Catawba Avenue that included 14 miles of freeway, four interchanges and 18 signalized intersections. The calibrated base model was then used as the basis for the individual project level analysis for the I-5715 project which includes a split diamond design and requires the use of Dynamic Traffic Assignment to route traffic through the revised design. The future year model included the planned managed lanes along I-77 with the traffic being routed statically along the proposed new lanes.
