PT Engineering developed a traffic forecast for proposed improvements along the Future I-87 Corridor from I-540 to US 264 in Wake County. The forecast included utilizing the Triangle Regional Model (TRM) travel demand model to develop a 2018 Base Year No-Build, 2045 Future Year No-Build, and the 2045 Future Year Build forecast for one alternative for 28 intersections. The forecast included the effects of peak hour spreading on the k-factors for the 2045 scenarios through the use of the NCDOT Peak Spreading Tool. The entire approved forecast was completed within 3 weeks of receiving count data.
